New collaborative project, ‘Kimberley Reef Connect,’ aims to increase understanding of the region’s coral reefs

We have many amazing coral reefs all around Australia. Not only are they beautiful to look at, they are also incredibly important to protecting the coastline and providing habitats and feeding areas for marine life. Yet, there is still so much we don’t know about these vital ecosystems.

In a joint project, researchers at Curtin University will be diving into the waters of The Kimberley Marine Park for the ‘Kimberely Reef Connect’ project, in aims to close the knowledge gaps in our understanding of the region’s coral reef ecosystem.

To tell us more about the project, we’re joined by Associate Professor Zoe Richards from Curtin University’s School of Molecular and Life Sciences.
