New content regulation laws to boost investment into Australian media production

Proposed new laws are set to boost investment into local Australian media production which would require big streaming services to honour larger content quotas of Australian produced media.

The potential investment into local production provides a huge opportunity to our growing industry, however, the proposed laws are met with resistance  from the big streaming services.

Queensland University professor of Media Studies Amanda Lotz spoke with Damon Sutton for Breakfast on the push for long overdue content regulation laws among major streaming giants and what this means for local media productions in Australia.
