New exhibition REDACTION TOOLKIT at Lightworks

REDACTION TOOLKIT is a collaboration project from four diverse, emerging-to-early-career artists – Jacob Canet-Gibson, Stirling Kain, Harrison W. See, and Jordee Stewart – exploring the creation and exhibition of experimental artworks.

The exhibition is a response to how communities and peoples negotiate cultural history and memory, navigating themes of censorship, mythmaking, and the many forms redaction can take.

Jacob Canet-Gibson and Jordee Stewart joined Bec Bowman on Artbeat to discuss creating the exhibition, the relevance of the exhibition’s themes to their work as Boorloo artists, and extending the exhibition into the wider community through talks, workshops, and collaborations with other local collectives.

REDACTION TOOLKIT is being hosted by the artist-run initiative Lightworks from 28 February – 7 March.
