Ocean wave energy

A new report called Ocean Wave Energy In Australia highlights the critical role wave energy could play in helping Australia achieve its Net Zero Targets. The report was commissioned by the Blue Economy Cooperative Research Centre and led by researched from The University Of Western Australia’s Ocean Institute.

Atikah Hurley is On The Record with one of the report’s lead authors Dr Hugh Wolgamot, Research Fellow at UWA’s Ocean Institute, to discuss the benefits of wave energy, integrating wave energy with off shore wind farms, Australia’s unique potential for utilising wave energy to help reach its Net Zero targets, and the steps the government should take to build support for wave energy.

Dr Wolgamot also talks about future research on ocean wave energy in Australia.
