Patrick Gunasekera on Composers in Crip Time

Patrick Gunasekera is a disabled Sinhala interdisciplinary writer, performer and theatre artist. Patrick’s published writing can be found in Archer Magazine, Australian Poetry Journal’s, Pulch Mag.

He is now producing and writing the script for Composers in Crip Time with an all-disabled artistic team.

“Composers in Crip Time, is a two-act play about neurodivergent composers in western music history and the multitude of ways culture changes over time. Told from Patrick’s point of view as a disabled arts writer and former classical piano student, it reckons with the complicated lengths disabled artists have gone to survive, create, and succeed in ableist times.”

Patrick Gunasekera chats with Bec Bowman on Artbeat about ‘Composers in Crip Time’.
