PauseAI Australia encourages public submissions to Parliamentary Committee

The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence has governments around the world trying to work out how to regulate a technology that is changing faster than the laws around it. The Australian governments new parliamentary joint select committee on Artificial Intelligence will be assessing the various fields likely to be impacted by AI, from productivity and jobs to national security and copyright infringement. The committee is currently taking public submissions until the 14th of September.

PauseAI is a global advocacy group which calls for slowing the development of more powerful AI systems, emphasising a safer and more democratic approach to the technology.

Volunteer co-director of PauseAI Australia, Peter Horniak, joined Isla Tomlinson to discuss the select committee and public concerns about AI.
