Perth activists to tackle gender-based issues on global youth committee

After more than 500 applications, ANU’s Global Institute for Women’s Leadership has selected four members from Perth to consult on its Global Youth Committee.

The committee is made up of 17 members across Australia and the Asia Pacific, and is tackling some of the most pressing gender-based issues facing their generation.

Zahra Al Hilaly is one of these members.

The local activist currently acts as the Chief Executive Officer for Oaktree Australia, the largest youth-run organisation in the country, and she’s a Duke University fellow working on the intersection of climate justice and faith-based practices.

Zahra joins Pam on Breakfast to talk about the committee, and the issues affecting their generation.
