PREMIERE: Human Buoy’s sparkling new psych-pop single, ‘Faces’

Human Buoy is a multi-genre project that begun as a growing collection of ideas stored on the hard drive of Ben McDonald’s brain and has continued into a merry-go-round of collaborative experiments. His latest single, ‘Faces’, blends and indie-pop base with shiny flourishes of psychedelia and ear-worm lyricism.

It’s been a long time in between drinks with the last full length Human Buoy release coming in the form of 2017’s Animation Station. This year we’ve been graced with some spectacular fresh singles; ‘Faces’ is no different.

McDonald’s lithe falsetto plays counterpoint to buzzing basslines and rubberised synth lines that bend groove across the track’s bouncy four minutes.

Ultimately life-affirming, both sonically and lyrically, “’Faces’ is for that person (or persons) you don’t see anymore. Whether by choice or circumstance, we’ve all got someone that comes to mind every now and then.. It’s easy to wake up with a bad, sad or nostalgic taste sometimes, but it’s important to find peace with it so as to not be weighed down by a negative loop”, say McDonald.

‘Faces’ comes from a Human Buoy’s forthcoming Slow-wave Activity EP due out early next year. Check out an exclusive premiere of ‘Faces’ below!
