PREMIERE: YOMI SHIP – ICE DRAKE
For the last 4 years, local 3-piece Yomi Ship have made a mark on the scene with their unique, epic, cinematic sounds, fusing elements of experimental, psychedelic, and post-rock in a commanding, enthralling manner.
They’ll be back with a new single at the end of May, Ice Drake (which you can stream exclusively below!), and swung past RTRFM for a chat and premier of the track on Homegrown with Will Backler, where they gave us the lowdown on their recent stage production, their creative process, the idea behind the new single. Ice Drake releases May 25 with a launch at The Corner Gallery on May 29, but you can stream it below exclusively before it drops!
The band says Ice Drake “is a reflection of the moods and emotions we went through last year” as instead of undertaking their first national tour they were forced to stay home and develop a darker sound that explores the band’s “darker/heavier guitar tones while maintaining the experimental reverb sound that our fans are familiar with” – have a listen for yourself now!
