Protect Sam’s Creek! The Save our Springs campaign

Te Waikoropupu Springs, located in Golden Bay, New Zealand, is renowned for having some of the purest water on Earth.

WA-based company, Siren Gold, plans to open a gold mine at Sam’s Creek directly above the aquifer that feeds these pristine springs. The proposal has sparked widespread opposition due to its potentially devastating risks.

Raven Lepage, a member of the Save Our Springs campaign to protect Sam’s Creek, joined RTRFM’s Millie Williams to discuss the area, its cultural and environmental significance, and the urgent threats it faces.
