Melissa Drummond is Regional Arts WA’s Artist of the Month

Regional Arts WA’s Artist of the Month for September, Melissa Drummond joins Bec Bowman on Artbeat to discuss her work.

Melissa Drummond is a Melbourne-born, Kalgoorlie-based documentary photographer and artist. Working for over a decade, her artistic practice often involves seeking out quiet, abandoned and degraded environments, recording the influence and impact of human activity.

You can see her work through ‘Open Borders’ exhibition at John Curtin Gallery from 12 August to 8 October, alongside 40 other artists from all 12 regions of Western Australia.

“Open Borders is a survey of contemporary regional art practice”.
