Reuben Black: Public Art Impacting our Sense of Place in Nature

Reuben Black, an emerging urban designer in Perth, had a chat to Bec Bowman about the impact of public art on our sense of place when out in nature.

His research focuses on the implementation of art along hiking trails and highlights the benefits of nature, exercise and art combined.

Art can be utilised as a tool in this space to help us connect with nature and learn more about the history of our surroundings.

Reuben hopes to see art trails pop up more over the greater Perth region.

This research on this contributes to his thesis for the completion of an Honours in Urban and Regional Planning at Curtin University.

Reuben has created a documentary of the research process with the goal of increasing the accessibility of his findings and he hopes to share this with an audience in the future.
