Rewind on RTRFM – 21 January 2022

Rewind is RTRFM’s talks digest, a round-up of the station’s most notable stories. Each episode features a couple of the most thought-provoking, timely or surprising pieces put to air – plus a quick overview of what’s been on our radar. For everything else, check out the features on our website – or tune in live on 92.1.

2022 is back in full force which means it was hard to decide on three top stories but we have narrowed it down. This week: climbing temperatures, FRINGE excitement and a healthy dose of funk and soul music.

It was a big week back for Breakfast with Taylah who served up an interesting and insightful conversation about the role of influencers in the modern social media landscape.

She had a chat to Mariah O’Dea about her new Fringe show #THENEWME which explores the role of online influencers, common influencer troupes and their impact on our own online and offline lives.

On the Record Wednesday presenter Fiona Bartholomaeus had the opportunity to chat to ECU Senior Research Fellow Dr Lauren Fortington about the associated signs of heat-induced illness, particularly while on bush walks as the weather starts to heat up in Perth.

And in music, presenter Emma Lucia chats with Mama’s Gun band members Chris and Dave, about soul and funk music and the inspiration for their forthcoming album Cure The Jones.

Rewind will return next week!
