RIP To The iPod

Apple has announced it will discontinue the iPod Touch, the final in the series of its iPods. Since 2001 the iPod has been a go-to for music on the go.

The device that could once fit just a thousand songs has been rendered obsolete now with the implementation of streaming services directly to mobile phones, making listening opportunities endless.

Taylah was joined by James Hall, who is a Lecturer and Course Coordinator in Media and Communications at Edith Cowan University. Together they reminisce upon the early stages of the iPod first generation development, including how they disrupted the digital music player market; through changes to the user interface and the addition of music listening and storage capacity.
