Robbie Kerr featured in Melville Open Studios
Melville Open Studios is an annual community-based event where Creatives, living and working within the City of Melville, open up their studios and creative hubs to the public. Over Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 May, Melville Open Studios is now in its sixth year and bigger than ever — with over 110 artists across 20+ art spaces. Following a record-breaking 2024 that generated over $75,000 in direct sales for artists, this year’s event continues to grow in impact and community support.
One of said featured artists is Robbie Kerr, who is returning for the second year. His handmade ceramics are grounded in function and simplicity, and he brings a calm and thoughtful voice to conversations around local art, creative practice, and the significance of connection between artist and audience.
Robbie Kerr joins Artbeat’s Bec Bowman to chat about his journey as a ceramicist, the value of artists directly engaging with the public, and Melville Open Studios’ creative and economic support for local creatives.
