Scientists develop AI tool to predict early signs of Parkinson’s disease

Parkinson’s disease affects an estimated ten million people around the world and is the fastest growing neurological disease globally – with 38 Australians being diagnosed every day.

Though little is know about the disease new collaborative research between the University of NSW and Boston University has been able to detect early signs of the disease in sufferers with 96 per cent accuracy up to 15 years before a clinical diagnosis is made.

UNSW School of Chemistry associate professor Alex Donald joined Madeleine Lombardi for On The Record to discuss this incredible new research.
