Shelter WA welcomes state budget with more to be done for cost of living

The first State budget was handed down by Premier Rodger Cook and Treasurer Rita Safiotti recently with peak homelessness organisation Shelter WA welcoming the significant boost to homelessness services and social and affordable houses.

Despite positive changes, the group says more needs to be done “on the whole” to meet the scale of this urgent crisis.

WA Shelter CEO Kath Snell spoke with Fiona Bartholomaeus for On The Record about the positive changes and the work still needed to ensure the state can tackle homelessness and the cost of living crisis.
