Should we ditch ‘best before’ food labels?

In an effort to reduce food waste, British supermarkets are trialing the removal of best-before dates on fresh food products.

According to local UK climate action charity, Waste and Resources Action Programme, up to 70 per cent of food that is ditched can actually be eaten. It raises the question, what impact would this have in Australia and should we do the same?
