Streaming Services and Australian Content with Dr Alexa Scarlata

Streaming services like Netflix and Disney Plus have grown in popularity across the years, but they’re not subjected to the same rules as regular television, who are required to meet local content quotas.

It’s been on the federal government’s agenda to introduce similar content requirements, but last week these plans were quietly shelved.

RTRFM’s Fiona Bartholomeus spoke with RMIT University research fellow Dr Alexa Scarlata to discuss streaming services in Australia and Australian content requirements.
