Street Roller Hockey Gaining Traction In WA

The first time you may have seen street hockey was in the film ‘Clerks’. Maybe even ‘Wayne’s World’. It’s a sport that has been around in one way or another for over 100 years and been an organised sport since the 1970s.

A thriving league in Western Australia has been going for almost a decade and it is always welcoming new players to get into the sport and play for such teams as ‘Jurassic Puck’, ‘Shannon Nollamarras’ and ‘Wilson Castaways’ all willing to ‘bleed for their burb!

Get Up Morning presenter Dawn Yates caught up with James Versluis, who is the Chairman of the League’s Committee to discuss the origins of the sport and how to get involved.
