The Manic chat all things their new single ‘Sunday ’til Sunday’
Hailing from Albany, The Manic began as a poetry collaboration between friends Owen Gust and Ricky Neil Jr. Evolving into a six-piece post-punk outfit shortly after, the band promptly became musical mainstays on Perth’s gig circuit with the release of their debut 2021 single Rust.
Now The Manic are back and stronger than ever with their latest offering and second single Sunday ‘til Sunday. Originally written when covid first rolled around, the track’s lyrics explore the repetitive nature of going to the same Albany venue every weekend, finding love and romance within the humdrum and mundanity of life. Featuring a duet with lead singer Ricky Neil Jr. and King Blue’s Skye Sam and set against a backdrop of uplifting chord progressions and strings, this track doesn’t disappoint.
Frontman Ricky swings by the RTRFM studios ahead of The Manic’s single launch at The Sewing Room on the May 12 to chat with Drivetime’s Em + Tim all things the band’s new single.
