Twenty nine Australian species recovered from endangered list

A recent study published in the Biological Conservation journal has revealed that 29 previously endangered Australian animal species no longer fit into the endangered category.

Up to 6.5 % of the 446 species that were listed as threatened, have been recovered from the period of 2000 to 2022, such that they no longer meet the eligibility criteria for listing as threatened.

Charles Darwin University Professor of Conservation Biology and study co-author John Woinarski joined Fiona Bartholomaeus for On The Record to discuss the conservation of our furry friends.
