Weird Science with Artsource

A project started four years ago in Covid lockdown, ‘Weird Science’ is a live music event hosted by Artsource at the Signals Sound Lab in Old Customs House, Fremantle on July, 20.

Special guest performers on the night are, electronic musician and composer Felicity Groom, Malcolm Clark from The Sleepy Jackson , multi-instrumentalist and songwriter David Lawrence with in-house lab technicians Gaëtan Schurrer and Will Axten, using live video projections by experimental visual artist Nathan Thompson.

“Set in a large internal space, the Lab is an interactive audiovisual experience powered by a vast array of interconnected music, sound, science and video technology.”

In this immersive lab, audience members are invited to get hands on with the equipment by creating sounds and visuals at specially constructed workstations.

In-house lab technicians, Gaëtan Schurrer and Will Axten join Bec Bowman on Artbeat to talk about this unique event.
