What’s on at John Curtin Gallery?
The John Curtin Gallery are hosting two significant exhibitions until mid December.
‘Aida Tomescu: in the midst of happening‘ provides a fascinating insight into the studio practice of one of Australia’s greatest living painters. This exhibition includes paintings, drawings and prints by Aida Tomescu from 1987 – 2015, as well as photographs and other ephemera.
John Curtin Gallery partners with the Art Gallery of New South Wales to present ‘Brett Whiteley: Inside the Studio‘. A rare and intimate insight into the ‘artist’s world’ through the art and life of one of the most admired and intensely creative figures of twentieth century Australia featuring painting, drawing, sculpture, music and photography from the Brett Whiteley Studio.
Both shows are running concurrently until 15 December, together with the exhibition of WA artists, ‘The John Stringer Prize 10 Year Retrospective‘.
John Curtin Gallery curator, Lia McKnight joins Maxxi May on Artbeat to talk about the current showcases on at John Curtin Gallery.
