Why Artificial Intelligence has Hollywood’s creatives worried

One of the terms sought by the currently striking Writers Guild of America and The Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists is a guarantee from studios that their jobs will not be outsourced to Artificial Intelligence. But just how warranted are their fears? Is AI really capable of producing an Academy Award winning script or replicating a performance on par with a human actor?

Joining us today is Dr. Jasmin Pfefferkorn, a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the School of Culture and Communication at The University of Melbourne and a Research Fellow at the Melbourne Law School, to talk about art, AI, and digital ethics.
