Wright Fashion Systems Usher In ‘Sustainable Niche’ Within The Fashion Industry

A group of Perth designers have been gearing up to launch Western Australia’s first zero waste shirts this month, stating that it’s up to small brands to ensure sustainable fashion isn’t just a fad.

The designers who go by the name “Wright Fashion Systems”, have been pushing for a zero waste and sustainability movement inside the broader fashion industry, further highlighting their appeal to broader demographics by age and gender with their latest collection, and investing in educating shoppers to boost appeal for eco-friendly garments.

Artbeat Presenter Bec Bowman caught up with Declan MacPhail and Harrison Gerhardy, who are two of the four Fashion Designers behind the brand.

Together they sit down to discuss the various design languages of the clothing garments they source from second-hand stores, including how the fabrics add to the design process, and how the group formed to release their brand in the Perth CBD, ushering their “Journey Through Understanding Sustainability”.
