Artbeat

Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.” – Thomas Merton

RTRFM prides itself on our coverage of the arts – from a global and a local perspective. Across the station we have always taken an in-depth and interesting look at the art around us.

Artbeat is a weekly look at the world from the perspective of the artist, the curator, the viewer, the people that fund it and those who cannot live without it. We look at art in all its forms from visual to performance and all those strange and wonderful things in between. It’s the intersections between art and all aspects of life that we love. From community art centres to our state art gallery, independent producers to global stars, we are interested in art and all who make it.

At RTRFM we are working towards improving the accessibility of our studios. At present, access is via a flight of stairs (street and rear) and unfortunately there is no wheelchair access. The doors to the studio is quite heavy and can be difficult to maneuver.

Many thanks to the volunteers in the production and presentation of Artbeat each week. And thanks to our Production Manager, Eddie Curtis, for the 2022 update to the Artbeat theme. Cheers to Your Best Friend Jippy, too.
