xmunashe preps for a night of improvisation at Perth Festival

Botswana-born, Perth-raised and now Sydney-based artist xmunashe an emerging musical polymath, combining elements of jazz, soul, R&B and hip-hop into a stream of entirely improvised live shows. He’s returning to his childhood home to perform at Perth Festival, holding court at The Rechabite on March 1.

As a live performer his artistry seamlessly fuses his musical influences and roots, resulting in a genre-defying experience; his self-taught production style gives birth to intricate sonic tapestries in person and in the studio.

As of this moment, xmunashe remains an unreleased and wholly independent artist. Remarkably, with just a handful of performances almost no recorded music under his belt, he has captured the global music community’s attention.

xmunashe joins RTRFM’s Matt Perrett to chat about his artistic practice, live shows and his return home.
