Feast Eternal – Yomi Ship
Feast Eternal is the debut album from Boorloo based post-rock band, Yomi Ship, an ethereal blend of instrumental prog-rock infused with elements of psychedelic, math, and post rock.
12 heady tracks map the world of Yomi Ship: shimmering, shivering and grooving with an intricate, melodic, and moody variety of math-rock that delicately weaves together technical riffs, smart song-craft, and experimental impulses.
A concept album inspired by Japanese folklore, the theme of transitioning to the afterlife draws parallels to the mythical realm of Yomi, where spirits linger after partaking in the feast of Yomi‘s hearth, unable to return to the land they came from.
The places, spaces and feelings established in each song may have a concrete point of inspiration for Yomi Ship but they remain tantalisingly abstract for home listeners or gig attenders, stripped back storytelling establishing a ‘vibe’ so rich, elaborate and varied that no word needs to be said for a psychedelic image of Yomi to form.
Before kicking off their European tour, Jarred, Jade and Nick joined Pam on Breakfast to discuss Feast Eternal.
Yomi Ship will celebrate Feast Eternal with their album launch at the Rosemount Hotel, with supports by Gloam, Didion’s Bible and Moya Moya on Friday, 28TH of June.
