The Substance and Rebel Ridge (Movie Squad Podcast #183)

This week, Tristan Fidler is joined by Laura Blundell to discuss two of the best films of 2024 on Brekky with Pam.

First up, Laura discusses Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley’s body horror satire The Substance, in which a 50-year-old aerobics star takes an experimental cosmetics treatment, with varied results (to say the least). It’s now showing in Australian cinemas, where you can see co-star Dennis Quaid snarfle prawns on the big screen.

Then, Tristan leads a review of Rebel Ridge, a straight-to-Netflix flick in which a former Marine (played by Aaron Pierre) takes revenge on the cops who stand in the way of him bailing his cousin out of prison.

That’s right, with Simon Miraudo on special assignment to undergo the Substance procedure, it’s prawns, Pierre and Pam Boland on Movie Squad!
