Medical Cannabis Overprescription Condemned by Psychopharmacologist

New data from the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency has raised concerns over medical cannabis prescribing practices as putting profit over patient safety.

In particular, the data revealed eight practitioners who had issued more than 10,000 scripts each over a six-month period.

While medical cannabis, legalised in Australia in 2016, can have significant benefits for certain health conditions, its misuse can have a negative impact, particularly in those with mental health conditions.
