Response to Federal Oil Refinery Announcement

This week it was announced that the WA and federal governments are investigating building a new oil refinery in WA’s North West. It would be the first oil refinery built in Australia since the 1960s and will be part of the country’s security response. However, in an age where we’re moving towards renewable energy, it’s a bit of step back when we could be investing in the infrastructure we already have and the infrastructure of the future.

Fiona Bartholomaeus chats with Matt Roberts, Executive Director of The Conservation Council of WA.
