moya moya take listeners to a hol newland on debut album

It’s safe to say the debut album by moyamoya called hol newland is blazing “F***YOU” to the Australian empire, served up in an angular, noisy art-punk free for all.

Split between Cowaramup and Walyalup (Fremantle) the band comprises musicians and self-described “art punks chucking a wobbly”, Liam MacFarlane, Jaydn Kempe and Barney Courtauld.

It’s a raging, wordy and witty album and a rallying cry in the face of alarming world events.

Pam Boland spoke with the band on Breakfast to discuss their musical style and inspirations and the genesis of the album.
