From musicians, writers, artists, actors, comedians and whoever has an interesting story to tell, the Midnight Special is an opportunity to go beyond the stock questions and understand the creative people in and around (and even outside of) Perth in deeper ways.

Comedy improv group, YAAAS KWEEN (Midnight Special Podcast #21)

For this episode of the Midnight Special Podcast,  you'll hear terrific late night chat and hilarious comedy as your host Tristan Fidler welcomes a quartet of the performers - Jaleesa Maher, Amri MrishoTor Snyder and Alex Christophers - that make up YAAAS KWEEN a new improv show focused on feminism, diversity and all things millennial. On this very special episode of the Midnight Special podcast, we present the Midnight Special Radiothon Special for 2019!

Co-hosted by the collective including Tristan Fidler, Ai-Ling Truong, Tom Reynolds and Ben Yaxley, we celebrate the difference of our show, show our love and appreciation of community radio and different voices, and interview several special guests about their connection to RTRFM: Emma Stokes aka Daisies Net talks about her music and starting presenting on the station, Steven Aaron Hughes discusses playing at RTR events with his bands and his love for the alternative sounds on the airwaves, and Axel Carrington plays beautiful music for everyone live on air as well as busting out several of his trademark impressions. We also receive a phone call from our Gold Subscriber and golden voiced friend Matt Roberts.

Joined by the rodeo queen of the karaoke scene, Consensual Connie who discusses the power of karaoke and certain karaoke rules with our other special guests who join us in the studio to sing karaoke on the airwaves. You'll hear the powerful voice of musician Lana, writer/activist Matt Roberts, and Elijah and Neil from House Of Bok as they create radio magic not witnessed since Friday night at the Northbridge Hotel with Groove Karaoke!

Please note: a large portion of this episode did not air due to a technical error (between 'Jolene' and Matt Roberts' performance). We also apologise for the buzzing sound during the first two live karaoke performances - another technical error unfortunately!
