Join your host Drew Krapljanov (from bands like Ryan Beno and Didion’s Bible), in part one of a series, as we take a closer look at the genre and some of the deeper themes at work, the first film being the iconic Oscar nominated 1994 documentary, Hoop Dreams. Arguably one of the greatest sporting documentaries of all time, Hoop Dreams follows two adolescent African-American boys in Chicago, their families, their community and their triumphs and struggles on their journey through high school, through to college and eventually, to the NBA.
