Gamilaroi singer songwriter Naomi Diane called in to discuss her evolution as a musician, and her experience being mentored by the award-winning Jaowyn and Torres Strait Islander artist Candice Lorrae in Uncle Archie Roach’s legacy program, Singing Our Futures. We also hear her new single, “Same Sky”.
Noongar Yamatji woman Kirby Bentley, who has led an illustrious career as an AFLW player, coach, and youth and mental health advocate, also called in. They discussed her selection as the honouree for the AFLW’s 2025 Indigenous Round, and the significance of representing Indigenous women and girls in football, such as through the Kirby Bentley Cup.
Jodi also highlights the upcoming NAIDOC Week Perth 2025 Opening Ceremony on Sunday 7 September from 12pm – 4pm at Wellington Square/Moort-ak Waadiny.
