Deadpool & Wolverine and Tótem (Movie Squad Podcast #176)

Another great team-up with the Blockbuster Babes aka Movie Squad for this podcast episode!

With Simon Miraudo away on assignment, Laura Blundell joins Tristan Fidler to chat with Breakfast host Pam Boland about the new movies in cinemas.

First, we take a pulse-check on our feelings about Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman with the Marvel Studios superhero action comedy, Deadpool & Wolverine, and whether there’s enough jokes, cameos and references to overcome the superhero fatigue out there!

Next, looking at a different side of cinema with the Mexican drama, Totem, directed by Lila Avilés and starring Naíma Sentíes as the seven-year-old Sol who attends a birthday party for her father who is suffering from a terminal illness. A beautifully observational and moving cinematic experience worth seeking out!

Stay listening to hear Laura’s thoughts about the divisive horror movie hit Longlegs and her latest movie viewings on the Letterboxd.
