Drive Away Dolls and Club Zero (Movie Squad Podcast #155)

On this week’s instalment of the Movie Squad podcast, Tristan Fidler reviews a new Coen brother (singular) film, Simon Miraudo discusses the wickedly talented Mia Wasikowska, and Brekky host Pam Boland reveals herself to be a chaotic presence in cinemas.

Queer comedy Drive Away Dolls is the first picture on the docket, from Ethan Coen and Tricia Cooke, with Tristan and Pam bonding over their shared theatrical experience with the pic’s silly shenanigans.

Then Simon brings everyone back down with Club Zeroa troubling and dangerous drama from Jessica Hausner, in which Mia Wasikowska plays a strange teacher who compels her students to stop eating entirely.

Drive Away Dolls is now in cinemas. Club Zero opens on 29 February.

Keep listening for a pod-exclusive chat about movie moments that have repulsed Simon and Tristan! And tune into RTRFM 92.1 at 7:30am on Fridays for your regular broadcast of Movie Squad on the radio!
