Madame Web and Fallen Leaves (Movie Squad Podcast #154)

We are of course referring to Brekky host Pam Boland, who is joined for Movie Squad by Simon Miraudo and Lucy Rutherford while Tristan Fidler is on special assignment in the Amazon researching spiders.

First up, Lucy leads a review of Madame Web, starring Dakota Johnson as a paramedic who discovers she can see into the future and must use these powers to protect some Spider-adjacent teenagers that, for legal reasons, cannot resemble or be named Peter Parker.

Then, Simon doubles up with a second review of Aki Kaurismäki’s Fallen Leaves, which he previously covered for a grand total of 90 seconds in last year’s speed-run Boxing Day special. With Fallen Leaves now in wide release, Lucy and Simon offer their more detailed thoughts on the deadpan romantic comedy.
