Say hello to

Drew Krapljanov

( He/Him )

I am approximately 30 something years old and I do various things under various names.

About

Get to know Drew

In no particular order, I will list a couple of things of relevant interest. I am a part of a myriad of musical projects such as Didion’s Bible and other mysterious outings. I previously presented on the now defunct Midnight Special and also produced a Revolver series entitled ‘The Songwriting/Perth Song Exploder Special’ back in 2021. Lastly, I sporadically write amateur freelance short form pieces on misc. films which are featured somewhere (?!) but particularly, sometimes in a local zine called ‘VHS Tracking’ curated by Tristan Fidler.

The rest of the time, my misc. ‘chilling out’ activities include spending time with my cat ‘Suki’, listening to records, writing in my diary, playing various video games, watching movies and attempting to get to a barely passable skill level re: Chess.

RTRFM cultivates an invaluable sense of camaraderie and community within the Perth music scene and I am very fortunate to be able to be a part of the station, amongst many other talented presenters and volunteers!

How did you become involved in the station?

At the time, the decision to become involved with RTRFM and present on air was a spur of the moment kind of thing. Thinking back, I think the actual impetus for my decision was because I felt that I wanted to give back to the wonderful people who supported my music and gave me the confidence to share my music with others. It was a bonafide life changing experience!

Tell us about your most memorable gig, either attending or playing at?

I can’t remember exactly what year it was but seeing Lightning Bolt play on the floor just near the side of the main stage at the Rosemount was mind-boggling.

What is your favourite show (other than your own) on RTRFM?

Plucked Strings
