About

Get to know Hannah Woolley

Sharing music, either through creation or curation, has always felt like a way of expressing myself and connecting with others. I am fascinated with contradicting feelings, ineffable experiences, and things that don’t make sense. Sometimes it’s hard to find the words, but there’s usually a song.

In a past life (my 20s) I was a classically trained oboe player, performing with some of the best chamber and symphonic ensembles around Perth. I now make ambient electronic music under the moniker ‘storytime’, appear in some forms of the incredible Lyndon Blue band, DJ very badly for my patient friends, and have the privilege of being part of the RTRFM community.

Outside of the station I enjoy having fun with my friends, being in love, reading, taking photos, making mistakes, and bothering my cat while he tries to sleep.

How did you become involved in the station?

When I started releasing my own music, RTRFM were so supportive and encouraging. I wanted to give that back and keep the cycle of positivity going, so I did the training course and threw myself into it!

Tell us about your most memorable gig, either attending or playing at?

I loved seeing Soichi Terada – his sound is effortlessly joyous, and the way he had the whole crowd fully immersed in the music and each other felt like magic.
