About

Get to know Michael

Two of my favourite things. Playing records and talking. RTRFM has allowed me to combine the two. Presenting on RTR is both challenging, and exciting and sometimes nerve wracking and fraught with pitfalls. I love the challenge of researching and presenting both new and old tunes. The nervous excitement minutes before going on air is thrilling. I am a teacher of children with special needs and I work and live in the wheatbelt.

When I am not listening to the radio or records I am usually playing the ukulele or watching football on TV (the round ball football where the players use their feet to control the ball!! 🙂 I arrived in WA in the late 80s and it seems to me that RTRFM has always been there. I am very grateful to RTR for the experience and the people that I have met at the station are wonderful.

How did you become involved in the station?

My ukulele group was invited to play some songs on Plucked Strings. Watching Natalie do her thing inspired me to do the training course. Loved the training. Love presenting.

Tell us about your most memorable gig, either attending or playing at?

Queen, A Night At The Opera, 29th November 1975, Hammersmith Odeon, London, stalls, Seat Q51and I still have the program and ticket. An amazing spectacle.

What is your favourite show (other than your own) on RTRFM?
