Get to know Shannan

I’m a huge fan of music and a huge fan of Perth, so what better place to share the love than at RTRFM? I have been listening to the station for over a decade and have been lucky enough to be presenting for nearly 6!

Outside of the station, you can find me working my IT-adjacent day job, administrating a dog rescue, or with my nose in yet another book.

How did you become involved in the station?

After listening to an International Womens Day edition of Critical Mass years ago, I thought about which artists I’d want to feature if I was the one presenting! I signed up to the presenter course and hung out on the awesome overnight shows for a bit before finding my place with my fellow punks on Burn the Airwaves.

Tell us about your most memorable gig, either attending or playing at?

I have had an absolute ball at each Dis-Order I’ve been able to attend! I love seeing the diverse sounds of the Perth punk and punk-adjacent scene.

What is your favourite show (other than your own) on RTRFM?

Soulsides.
