About

Get to know Shaz

As a radio presenter, mum of three, grandmother to three, and self-employed business owner for over 30 years, I bring a wealth of experience to all of my many roles. I am a Mediator, Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, soon-to-be Justice of the Peace, Clinical Hypnotherapist, Kinesiologist, Coach, Trainer, and Natural Therapist. A former belly dancer and wannabe politician, I am a dedicated volunteer and avid traveller with a deep love for Indian and Punjabi cultures.

I’ve been listening to RTRFM since the early ’90s and enjoy sharing my new musical discoveries and old favourites. The late-night and early-morning timeslots are my favourite, as I feel they foster a more intimate connection with listeners.

How did you become involved in the station?

Having done some work on 6PR and Radio Fremantle about 7.5 years ago as well as owning and running a podcast studio for a few years, volunteering on RTRFM just seemed like the natural progression for me so I jumped in on the 6-week training course and well, here we are!

Tell us about your most memorable gig, either attending or playing at?

There have been so many incredible gigs, but one that stands out the most is n artist not usually featured on RTRFM. In the mid-90s, I attended a Harry Connick Jr. gig that was absolutely mind-blowing.

What made it unforgettable was his display of extraordinary talent—he played every single musical instrument on the stage, about seven in total. It was pure genius and sheer talent in action.

What is your favourite show (other than your own) on RTRFM?

Oh, my goodness, just one?? I honestly enjoy them all, but I think Siamese Dream, and Soulsides battle it out for number one spot for me!

Love music?

Love RTRFM.
