Episode recap

Bobby Fletcher filling in for Beth Mackiewicz today!

Author Sally Piper chats about her new book “People like Us” which tells the very familiar tale of an older Australian woman who has to start again from scratch after losing her home, and the challenges she faces after she finds work caring for a wealthy elderly woman. "People Like Us" is out now through University of Queensland Press.

It is NAIDOC week, and we’re celebrating fifty years of Deadly, so Danae Gibson has a chat with Naomi Parry Duncan - A Tasmanian born historian who has recently released a book that goes back to the early days of colonisation. Musquito: The real story of a legendary colonial warrior is published by Unwin & Allen.

Finally, American-Canadian violinist Leila Josefowicz, who is in Perth with her musical partner John Novacek - both of whom have been making music together since they were eight has a chat about her career and working with original composers. They’re in town for Musica Viva’s performance of The Fairies Kiss this Saturday night at the Regal Theatre.
