FEATURE ALBUM: Carla dal Forno’s Confession

Leaning into emotional truth is the backbone of this week’s feature album Confession, the fourth LP by mutli-instrumentalist and songwriter Carla dal Forno.

Written and recorded over several years in a small country town, in a studio housed inside a partially abandoned hospital, Confession charts the evolution of a friendship into something more charged.

Where dal Forno’s earlier work observed relationships from a distance, Confession sees her turn inward with a voice closer, warmer and less shielded; rendered with an emotional precision that sharpens the everyday into something quietly unsettling.

RTRFMs Annika Moses spoke with Carla following the release of the LP and spoke with her about the production of the record, how she feels about the confessional nature of the music and taking what is a very personal record on tour.
