Listen to the Beat of the Lion’s Drums

French producer Harold Boué has been releasing cutting-edge underground electronic sounds since the mid-00s, first under his Abstraxion moniker, and more recently as Lion’s Drums.

His new album Kagabas is a stunning record with a fascinating back story, named after the Kagabas people of Columbia, who invited Harold to visit their home of the Sierra Nevada mountain in Santa Marta, where he spent a week living and recording the Kagabas.

The result is an incredibly engrossing album of electronic music, rooted in both ambient and underground club sounds, with the recordings of the Kagabas people the star of the show.

With all proceeds from sales of the record going to the Nativa organisation who are helping the Kagabas people with legal land-right disputes, RTRFM’s Will Backler was more than fascinated by the story, and got Boué on the line to find out all about it.
