Research of 300-million-year-old faeces finds meat on menu

Researchers at Curtin University have discovered interesting dietary information about an unidentified extinct animal.

Through analysis of the organic molecules preserved within 306 million year old fossilised animal faeces, otherwise known as coprolites, scientists found the animal was a meat eater or on a predominately carnivorous diet.

PHD student from the WA Organic and Isotope Geo Chemistry Centre at Curtin Madison Tripp  joined Fiona Batholomaeus On The Record to discuss the findings.
