Gningala Yarran, from Yamatji and Ballardong Noongar mob, joined the show. They discuss mental health and intergenerational trauma in Indigenous communities, and the effects of harmful language and rumours. They also talked about Gningala’s illustrious career and the importance of leading by example, touching on how her own dad inspired her journey into law and academia.
Megan Krakouer, from Menang mob, then joined the show to discuss the recent World Suicide Prevention Day on 10 September and its particular relevance to Indigenous communities, as well as Jim’s speech on the history of the Aboriginal Advancement Council.
Carolyn Tan also briefly joined the show to discuss the 100 anniversary of the Ordination of the Reverend James Noble, the first Aboriginal person ordained in the Anglican Church in Australia.
